Neel recently stepped down from his role as CEO of Laureate Education’s EMEAA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific) segment. In this role, Neel ran the largest higher education platform outside the Americas – spanning 10 countries, 20 + institutions, and 150,000+ university students – representing a $700MM+ revenue operation.
Neel joined Laureate in Hong Kong in 2008 as one of the initial members of Laureate’s Asia Pacific organization. He then built and led Laureate’s India operation while based in New Delhi. Between 2015 and 2017, he served as Laureate’s Chief Strategy and Growth Officer based in Baltimore. Neel has managed multiple partnerships for Laureate, and represented Laureate on multiple Boards, including its interest in Coursera.
Neel was formerly a Director at Merrill Lynch’s Principal Investing Group in Hong Kong, an Investment Executive at ICV Capital Partners in New York, a Consultant at McKinsey in Manila and New York, and an Investment Banker at Deutsche Bank in New York and London.
Neel obtained a Master of Science degree at BITS Pilani In India and graduated with an MBA from The Wharton School.
